Wild Wintry Day

2013-01-22

Woke up this morning to skylights covered in snow.
Drove to school very slowly and patiently…

The current class in Allergies is so interesting and fascinating.
Love our instructor – for her nerdiness, knowledge and enthusiasm.
Truly makes for great classes where so much is learned.

Return home was a much easier drive.
As usual the sparrows were out waiting for seeds…and there was a new fellow with them!
Birds fed…time to prep for this evening’s case study interview.

Interview went well, and much was discussed.
Still finding it challenging to put all the information together and express it in a manageable way for the listener – really don’t want to download or overload the listener!

Grateful today for
the snowfall that makes the city so pretty – and slows everyone down,
a new bird at our window,
and for a good interview today – now to get down to writing the case studies…

Marvelous Meech

2012-12-28

Awake early and outside taking in the stillness of Meech Lake…
Helicopter flies overhead and a CTV vehicle drives by?
The news of the morning – search and rescue teams found 4 lost in the woods.

A day of rest, some reading, some teching and a complete hexaflexagon!!
Delicious gourmet meals continue to magically appear throughout the day,
and our evening is entertainment by my mate.

Grateful today for
our winter getaway,
the friends we are sharing it with,
and for a first hand hexaflexagon making experience!

419 – Sunny 16

Sunny skies and a Sunday afternoon walk in the park.
Perfect for getting my Sunny 16 assignment done,
and for visiting with AM.

A relaxed day with my mate,
and an adventurous evening outing in the snowstorm.

The millions of sparkles on our walk home…
magical.

Grateful today for
the walk in the park and the visit with the ducks,
taking a closer look at the ice in the park to see the green grass and oak leaves,
and holding my mate’s hand as we walked in the night sparkles together.

412 – A Perfect Sunday

As we watch the birds have their breakfast,
the snow is melting.
Chickadees, Finches,
Sparrows, Red-Bellied Woodpeckers,
Cardinals and Blue Jays too!

A lovely walk after breakfast before we drive back to the big smoke.
A perfect Sunday…

Grateful today for
the beautiful birds,
relaxed Sunday mornings,
and wonderful weekends with friends.

411 – Timely + Timeless

A drive to Idlewild this afternoon
to visit with the country mice
and to attend the world premiere of
Declaration by John Burge.

“We are all born free and equal in dignity and rights.
We are all endowed with reason and conscience and must act towards each other in a spirit of brotherhood.”
from the Universal Declaration of Human Rights

A most wonderful composition and concert,
beautiful, moving and powerful…
The evening is perfect.

Grateful today for
the country mice, their hospitality and friendship,
EQ, without whom we would not be at or even know about the evening’s performance,
and the beauty of winter at Idlewild.
